Welcome to the table,
Ready for another strange practice that may or may not be real but sure seems to have been? Apparently, at one point the French had a thing called “Une loterie d’amour,” and it was anything but romantic. Hopeful singles would file into houses that faced each other and then shout through opened windows until they found their match.
While this is already unhinged, what came next was even wilder. Those who didn’t find a partner got together, built a massive bonfire and cursed the sky while burning images of the people who rejected them. This got so out of hand that the French government decided to ban this “love lottery” banishing this odd Valentine’s Day tradition to the rumor mills of history.
Instead of setting fire to stuff this Valentine’s season, check out these offerings from Star Wars and Funko Pop!
First up is this Valentine’s Han Solo which is Modeled to resemble chocolate. I love the concept of making a Funko look like one of those foil-wrapped chocolate treats and while not edible this will for sure make a sweet addition to anyone’s Star Wars collection. You can score one at this link.
Another fun chocolate-inspired Star Wars offering from Funko is this Valentine’s Day Pop! Princess Leia. This sweet little vinyl bobblehead is approximately 4 inches tall and would pair perfectly with your Han Solo. Pick one up at this link.
If you are looking for a functional gift for the Funko enthusiast check out Valentine’s Day Pop! Pens featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu. Each is holding little-themed Valentine’s Day gifts and is decked out in a festive red and pink color scheme. These Pop! pens are perfect for writing letters to your Valentine or just filling out your Star Wars collection with even more fun little finds. You can find this set at most Walmart locations.
Until next time, Han shot first!
