Pathaan is an Indian action thriller that takes place within the Yash Raj Films (YRF) shared Spy Universe. The YRF Spy Universe connects the films Ek Tha Tiger (2012), its sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), followed by War (2019), and the latest installment, Pathaan.
Honestly, you don’t need to know much going in to enjoy Pathaan. All I knew about Ek Tha Tiger is that it featured the greatest kick in cinematic history (seen above). In Pathaan, an Indian secret agent races against a doomsday clock as a ruthless mercenary with a bitter vendetta mounts an apocalyptic attack against the country. I’m glad that the bombastic insanity of Indian action films is finally gaining mainstream popularity in America. So if you enjoyed RRR, be sure to check out Pathaan.
