During Anime Boston 2023 I came across a Media Blasters Storefront that was selling a goldmine of B-movies including: The Machine Girl, Tokyo Gore Police, Mechanical Violator Hakaider, Kite, Puppet Princess, and Zebraman 1 and 2.
As a connoisseur of of counterculture I was amazed by Media Blasters film selection and picked up Zebraman 2 on a whim. Zebraman 2: Attack on Zebra City is hardly a superhero movie but rather the bizarre fever dream of The Purge, The Clockwork Orange, and a J-rock music video. Actor Riisa Naka shines in her campy yet seductive performance as the Zebra Queen.
Those who have a love of underground and exploitation cinema should check out the Media Blasters Storefront website and their upcoming convention Anime NJ. They do sell gory and 18+ content so viewer discretion is advised. It’s great to see an outlet that specializes in A-grade B-movies!
