Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus One takes the iconic monster back to postwar Japan. The original 1954 Godzilla symbolizes the nuclear holocaust from a Japanese perspective. Since the original film Godzilla has become for fantastic and family friendly. I personally grew up with VHS tapes of Godzilla vs the Sea Monster and Godzilla vs Megalon. Those who grew up with the character may be interested in this darker more dramatic take.
