Medieval is a period piece action drama directed by Petr Jákl inspired by the true story of Jan Zizka. The film takes place after the death of the Roman Emperor during a battle of political intrigue and betrayal. Mercenary leader Jan Zizka (Ben Foster) is hired by Lord Boresh (Michael Caine) to kidnap the powerful Lord Rosenberg’s fiancée, Lady Katherine. Gritty historical action films happen to be my favorite sub-genre. As a diehard fan of films like 2004’s King Arthur, Last Knights, and The Last Warrior I’m pretty excited for Medieval.
Medieval opens in theaters on September 9, 2022.
