Beyond the addition of all the Marvel vanity cards, this teaser for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the same one opening night audiences saw at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. In it, Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) reality-warping spell appears to bite back at him with a disintegrating New York. The situation is dire enough for him to call Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) for aid. But will their combined strength, and the help of Wong (Benedict Wong) and American Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), be enough to stem the tide, answer the claims of Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and deal with Strange Supreme (also Cumberbatch)?
At least, we’re assuming the dark Strange glimpsed here is the same one from the Disney+ What If…? series. It’s also possible this is another Multiversal variant with another malevolent name. Let the Mephisto predictions start here. And since this is the film expected to lean heavily into the Disney+ programs, we have to wonder if Loki (Tom Hiddleston) or a variant of He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) will appear.
