Bluepoint Games rumored to be working on a Bloodborne game

New Sony acquisition Bluepoint Games may be working on a Bloodborne game, according to Sacred Symbols cohost and former IGN editor Colin Moriarty. He tweeted “Bluepoint may be on a journey to Yharnam” today. For those who haven’t stocked up on madman’s knowledge, Yharnam is the city where Bloodborne begins.

As with all rumors, don’t get your hopes up too much (unless you’re and your hopes are already astronomically high). This is just one tweet, after all. However, Moriarty assuredly has strong Sony connections via his PlayStation-focused podcast, so he’s a somewhat a credible voice. He’s also the only voice to mention the possibility of Bluepoint working on something Bloodborne related, so take it for what you will.

Bluepoint Games has primarily been a remaster- and remake-focused studio, with notable works being the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection remaster, 2018’s Shadow of the Colossus remake, and last year’s PS5 Demon’s Souls remake. They were officially acquired by Sony last week and plan to work on “original content,” although that hasn’t stopped speculation they may be working on a remastering or remaking another “beloved game.”

Bloodborne released in 2015 to a storm of praise. It’s spawned a passionate fandom, with some of those good hunters modding Bloodborne or making Bloodborne-inspired games of their own. Despite all of this, however, neither Sony nor From Software have made any formal announcements about a possible sequel.
