Blur Studios’ Adaptation Of Eric Powell’s ‘The Goon’ Heads To Netflix

Eric Powell‘s Eisner-Award-winning comic series The Goon will be adapted into a Netflix original animated film. In development for some time, The Goon will be produced by Tim Miller (Love, Death, and Robots) and directed by Patrick Osborne (Three Robots: Exit Strategies). The script will be co-written by Powell and Osborne and animated by Blur Studios.

The Goon had short test film developed by Blur Studios back in 2015. The Goon was voiced by Clancy Brown and Franky was voiced by Paul Giamatti. Hopefully, both actors will reprise their roles. For those unfamiliar with Powell’s comics, I recommend The Goon in China Town, Occasion for Revenge, and Once Upon and Hard Time. Now that we’re in a space of gripping adult animation and indie-comic adaptations it’s a great time to discover The Goon.
