Bob’s Burgers initially began as an animated series airing on Fox. It follows the Belcher Family – parents Bob and Linda and their three children Tina, Gene and Louise. Together they run a burger shop in their seaside hometown and in each episode they get into hijinks. Throughout its twelve seasons, the show has garnered critical acclaim and has won two Emmys. Like The Simpsons, South Park, and Beavis and Butthead before it, Bob’s Burgers is making the jump to the big screen.
The Bob’s Burgers Movie is set to be released this Memorial Day Weekend on May 27th with the original voice cast reprising their roles. In the story, a ruptured water main causes a sinkhole right outside the restaurant so Bob and Linda have to find new ways to prevent the shop from going out of business. Meanwhile, the Belcher children set out to solve a mystery that just might help solve their parents’ problem.
At this year’s WonderCon, the creatives and stars took part in a panel on Sunday morning to promote the film. Attendees received some nice giveaways including a mini poster and a The Bob’s Burgers Movie crew pin. What’s the significance of the rubber duck? We’ll find out in the film but if you watch the trailer, a whole pool full of them appears briefly.
