‘DC Showcase — Constantine: The House of Mystery’ Set For May Debut

John Constantine (Matt Ryan) is back in animated form!

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced Tuesday that the next DC Showcase collection will be released on May 3rd and the beloved magician/conman will headline the proceedings in a brand new adventure. DC Showcase — Constantine: The House of Mystery sees Constantine waking up in the strange abode with no memory of how he ended up there. Fortunately, Zatanna (Camilla Luddington), Etrigan (Ray Chase), and several other allies are also wandering the House’s halls. Unfortunately, they have a bad habit of turning into demons and ripping him to shreds. The short also features the voices of Robin Atkin Downes as Negral, Damian O’Hare as Chas — reprising their roles from Constantine: City of Demons — Grey Griffin and Lou Diamond Phillips also lend their talents. Matt Peters directs from a script by Ernie Altbacker.

Beyond Constantine’s latest troubles, though, the collection also rounds up the 2021-2022 DC Showcase short films in one convenient package. The other films include Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth!, The Losers, and Blue Beetle. Each was previously released alongside the last year’s feature-length DC Animated titles but DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery continues the occasional tradition of bringing the Showcase films together.

Also included is a new featurette, DC Showcase: One Story at a Time, a look back at the original 2010 DC Showcase short film program and its subsequent revival. Producer Rick Morales, along with Peters and fellow director Milo Neuman, explore the featured heroes and villains, the comics that inspired them, and these adventures’ place in the bigger picture of the DC animated universe.

DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery comes to disc and digital on May 3rd.
