Bioware shares new art from the next Mass Effect

Bioware finally delivered the goods.

The developer showed off artwork from the next game in the Mass Effect series today as one of its final ways of celebrating N7 Day, also known as Mass Effect Day. Not too much can be gleaned from the new image, which you can check out below. A new vehicle, with “SFX” painted on the side, looks to have landed on a planet, moon, asteroid, or another type of celestial body. Its crew — with definitely a krogan, a turian, and two other humanoid figures — looks to be on its way to investigate a crater. The image is available for download if you want to give it a good ol’ zoom and enhance yourself to find any more clues or easter eggs.

That’s all Bioware has shown today pertaining to the next Mass Effect game. We presumably won’t be getting anything else for the new game until the 2021 Game Awards next month (fingers crossed!), next year’s E3 (or EA’s adjacent conference), or even N7 Day 2022 to celebrate the franchise’s milestone 15th anniversary. The game was first officially announced at last year’s Game Awards.

N7 Day brought us plenty to be excited about, from new and discounted merchandise, a sale on Mass Effect Legendary Edition, a fun sweepstakes, and some enlightening player statistics. Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer — the voices of Commander Shepard — also came together for GameSpot to reminisce over some of their favorite lines and moments from the trilogy.

What do you think of the new artwork? What are you hoping for from the next Mass Effect game? Let us know in the comments below!
